Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
The short version:
We use your location to show food that's open near you, and (for food trucks) to show customers where you are while you're open.
We keep the account, order and review information needed to run the service. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
You can delete your account and its data at any time in the app.
This policy explains how Vangture LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("Vangture", "we", "us"), collects, uses and shares information when you use the Vangture app, the Vangture Vendor app, and vangture.com (together, the "Service").
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: your name and email address, and a password, which our sign-in provider stores in encrypted form; we never see it.
- Orders: the items you order, quantities, prices, notes to the vendor, your name as shown to the vendor, and the order status.
- Reviews: star ratings and comments. Reviews are public and show your first name.
- Favorites: the places you save.
- Vendor information (Vangture Vendor app): business name, type, description, food types, phone number, address, hours, menu items, prices, deals, and the email of the account owner.
Location
- Customers: with your permission, we use your device's location while you use the app to center the map and show distances. We don't store a history of your location on our servers.
- Vendors: we store your business location so customers can find you. If you run a food truck and tap "Go live", the app shares your device's location while the app is open and you are live, and updates your public map pin. Closing stops sharing and removes the pin.
- You can turn location off at any time in your phone's settings. Some features won't work without it.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical information needed to run and secure the Service, such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address and diagnostic logs, which our service providers collect when the app connects to them.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: show nearby vendors, menus and deals, place and track pickup orders, and show reviews.
- To review and approve vendors, and to keep the Service safe: preventing fraud, abuse and fake reviews.
- To communicate with you about your account, orders and important changes, and to respond to support requests.
- To fix problems and improve the Service.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
3. How information is shared
- With vendors you order from: your name, order details and note, so they can prepare your order.
- Publicly: vendor listings (name, location, hours, menu) and reviews (with the reviewer's first name).
- With service providers who run the Service for us under contract: Google (Firebase hosting, sign-in and database; Google Maps), Apple and Google (app distribution and notifications), and similar providers. They may process data only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public, or Vangture.
- In a business transfer: if Vangture LLC is involved in a merger, sale or reorganization, information may transfer as part of that deal, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. The Service has no ads.
4. Payments
Vangture currently does not process payments. You pay the vendor directly at pickup. If we add in-app payments, they will be handled by a payment processor, and we will update this policy before that happens.
5. Keeping and deleting information
- We keep information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service.
- Delete your account in the app: Account, then Delete account. This deletes your profile and favorites (customers), or your business listing and menu (vendors), along with your sign-in account.
- Order records and reviews may be kept after account deletion where needed for the other party's records, safety, or legal reasons. Reviews from deleted accounts may remain, showing only a first name.
- You can also email privacy@vangture.com to ask us to access, correct or delete your information.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with Google Cloud. Access is restricted by security rules that limit who can read or change each record. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Children
The Service is intended for people 18 and older and is not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Your choices and rights
You can update your information in the app, turn location off in your device settings, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your information. Email privacy@vangture.com and we'll respond within the time required by law.
9. Where data is stored
Vangture operates in the United States. Our data is stored in the United States.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. If the changes are significant, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
